‘4IR’-South Korea points to collaboration with Bangladesh in developing skilled labor
South Korean High Commissioner hints this during a meeting with FBCCI President
[Dhaka, 21 October 2020]- Mr. Lee Jang-Keun, the Korean High Commissioner to Bangladesh has foreshadowed collaboration with Bangladesh in facilitating the development of skilled labor, aligned with the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
He suggested this during a courtesy call with the FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim, at the newly renovated FBCCI Icon 60 Motijheel in the capital, on Tuesday (20th October).
During the visit, the FBCCI President appraised the High Commissioner of South Korea on FBCCI Impact 4.0, entailing FBCCI ADR Center, Tech Center, Skill Lab, FBCCI Institute, FBCCI University, Economic Applied Research Center, Multipurpose Workshop / Seminar / Skills Auditorium, and the federation’s capacity enhancements with globally top-rated organizations and roadmap to LDC and SDG 2030.
Aligned with Bangladesh’s development trajectory, the present FBCCI board launched FBCCI 2041 which constitutes Impact 4.0 initiative.
However, the highlight of the meeting was soliciting Korean interest for FDIs or Joint ventures in the automotive component making, and its potential contribution in the tech center, providing access to the startup ecosystem; at the same time imploring the counterpart in providing arbitrator for the Alternate Dispute Resolution Center.
The FBCCI President and the High Commissioner also discussed the apex trade body’s noteworthy economic and social measures during Covid19; Bilateral Value Chain Initiatives™ (BVCI™); diplomatic relations; trade agreements entailing KCCI, KOIMA, KITA; COVID 19 engagements; investment incentives; TVET skill development through knowledge transfer and labor migrants. The two countries are expected to engage in stronger cooperation in various facets including FBCCI Impact 4.0.
Jong Won Kim, Trade Representative, Commercial section and Cheol-sang KIM, Deputy Chief of Mission Counsellor of the Embassy of Republic of Korea (ROK); alongside FBCCI Vice-Presidents, Mr. Md. Rejaul Kariem Rejnu, CIP; Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed; Mr. Nizamuddin Rajesh and FBCCI Directors Mr. Sujib Ranjan Dash Mr. Md. Munir Hossain; and Mr. Salahuddin Alamgir were also present during the occasion.
Mr.Mostafa Kamal, Chairman of Meghna Group of Industries was also present at the occasion as the honorary consul of Korea in Chittagong.

[ঢাকা, ২১ অক্টোবর ২০২০]- চতুর্থ শিল্প বিপ্লবের (৪ আইআর) সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে দক্ষ শ্রমিকদের দক্ষতা বাড়াতে বাংলাদেশকে সহযোগিতা করার আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ার হাই কমিশনার লি জ্যাং কেয়ান। মঙ্গলবার (২০ অক্টোবর) রাজধানীর মতিঝিল ৬০ এ নতুনভাবে সংস্কারকৃত এফবিসিসিআই আইকনে, এফবিসিসিআই (ফেডারেশন অব বাংলাদেশ চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ)-এর সভাপতি শেখ ফজলে ফাহিমের সাথে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকালে তিনি এ পরামর্শ দেন।
সাক্ষাতের সময় এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি দ. কোরিয়ার হাই কমিশনারকে এফবিসিসিআই ইমপ্যাক্ট ৪.০ সম্পর্কে অবহিত করেন, যার মধ্যে আছে এফবিসিসিআই এডিআর সেন্টার, টেক সেন্টার, স্কিল ল্যাব, এফবিসিসিআই ইনস্টিটিউট, এফবিসিসিআই ইউনিভার্সিটি, ইকোনমিক অ্যান্ড অ্যাপ্লায়েড রিসার্চ সেন্টার, মাল্টিপারপাস ওয়ার্কশপ/সেমিনার/স্কিলস অডিটোরিয়াম ও বিশ্বের শীর্ষস্থানীয় প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর সাথে পার্টনারশিপে ফেডারেশনের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি এবং এলডিসি ও এসডিজি ২০৩০ বাস্তবায়নের রোডম্যাপ ইত্যাদি। বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়ন গতিপথের সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে বর্তমান এফবিসিসিআই বোর্ড এফবিসিসিআই ভিশন ২০৪১ চালু করেছে, যা ইমপ্যাক্ট ৪.০ উদ্যোগ নিয়ে গঠিত।
এছাড়া এই বৈঠকের মূল আকর্ষণ ছিলো অটোমোবাইল শিল্পের খুচরা যন্ত্রাংশ তৈরিতে সরাসরি বিদেশী বিনিয়োগ বা যৌথ উদ্যোগে কোরিয়ার আগ্রহ প্রকাশ, প্রযুক্তি কেন্দ্রে এর সম্ভাব্য অবদান, স্টার্টআপ ইকোসিস্টেমে অ্যাক্সেস সুবিধা প্রদান; একই সাথে বিকল্প বিরোধ নিষ্পত্তি কেন্দ্রের (অলনারনেট ডিসপ্যুট রেসল্যুশন সেন্টার) জন্য মধ্যস্থতাকারী প্রদানের জন্য অনুরোধ জ্ঞাপন।
এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি কোরিয়ার হাই কমিশনারের সাথে কোভিড-১৯ মহামারিতে ব্যবসায়ীদের শীর্ষ সংগঠন এফবিসিসিআই-এর উল্লেখযোগ্য অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ড তুলে ধরেন। পাশাপাশি তারা উভয় দেশের বাইল্যাটেরাল ভ্যালু চেইন ইনিশিয়েটিভসTM (বিভিসিআইTM), কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক, কেসিসিআই, কেওআইএমএ, কেআইটিএ’কে সম্পৃক্ত করে বাণিজ্য চুক্তি; কোভিড-১৯ সম্পৃক্ততা, বিনিয়োগে প্রণোদনা; জ্ঞান বিনিময়ের মাধ্যমে টিভিইটি দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন এবং শ্রমিক অভিবাসন বিষয়ে আলোচনা করেন। এফবিসিসিআই ইমপ্যাক্ট ৪.০ সহ বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে দৃঢ় ও শক্তিশালী সহযোগিতায় সম্পৃক্ত হওয়ার ব্যাপারে দুই দেশই আশাবাদী।
এ সময় এম্ব্যাসি অব রিপাবলিক অব কোরিয়া (আরওকে)-এর কমার্সিয়্যাল সেকশনের ট্রেড রিপ্রেজেন্টেটিভ জং ওন কিম ও ডেপুটি চিফ অব মিশন কাউন্সিল চিওল-স্যাং কিম সহ এফবিসিসিআই-এর সহ সভাপতি রেজাউল করিম রেজনু সিআইপি; মীর নিজাম উদ্দিন আহমেদ; নিজামুদ্দিন রাজেশ এবং পরিচালক সুজিব রঞ্জন দাশ; মো. মুনির হোসাইন ও সালাউদ্দিন আলমগীর উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
এছাড়া চট্টগ্রামের কোরিয়ান অনারারি কনস্যুল হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মেঘনা গ্রুপ অব ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজের চেয়ারম্যান মো. মোস্তফা কামাল।
