A discussion meeting on the import, Supply, and Price of the daily essentials held at FBCCI.
The FBCCI President Mr. Md Jashim Uddin urged all businesses to follow the price list the government provided on 46 products, and not to increase daily essential prices in the holy month of Ramadan.
The FBCCI Chief made the remark at a meeting on the import, Supply, and Price of the daily essentials held at the FBCCI on April 02, 2022.
Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin urged government to adjust taxes and duties on import as the prices in international market goes sky high. “The duty and tax reduction would not affect government’s revenue as the prices are higher rather the adjustment would give a relief to consumers”, he added.
Citing the example of price reduction ahead of festival across the world, FBCCI President called for introducing same culture in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, FBCCI chief informed that, the apex trade body has formed 46-members Market Monitoring Committee to oversee the retailers follow the price list the government provided on 46 products and collect and review the market prices of essential commodities, supply situation, production and international market prices and pay spot visits to the market.
Also present at the discussion meeting were, FBCCI Senior Vice President Mr. Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, former vice President Mr. Md. Halal Uddin, Director Mr. M.G.R. Nasir Majumder, Mr. Md. Rejaul Kariem Rejnu, CIP, Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, Mr. Tabarakul Tosaddek Hossain Khan, Mr. Bijoy Kumar Kejriwal, Mr. Joshoda Jibon Debnath, Mr. Harun or Rashid, Dr. Nadia Binte Amin, Mr. Abu Hossain Bhuiyan (Ranu) and the Secretary General Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque.
