August 18, 2023: FBCCI, the apex body of businessmen, paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by laying wreaths and offering prayers.

On Friday (August 18, 2023) at noon in Tungipara, Gopalganj, the leaders of the organization led by the newly-elected president of FBCCI, Mahbubul Alam, paid homage at Bangabandhu's tomb. At this time, the business leaders observed a moment of silence to pay respect to the memory of the martyrs of August 15, 1975, including Bangabandhu, and prayed for the salvation of the souls of Bangabandhu and all the martyrs of August 15, 1975.

Meanwhile, the newly elected president of FBCCI, Mahbubul Alam, said, "We got an independent country today because of Bangabandhu." Many of our businessmen today are bank owners, owners of large industries, leaders of various organizations. Starting from zero, Bangladesh today is on the way to a trillion dollar economy. These would not have been possible if the country was not independent. For this we are eternally grateful to Bangabandhu.

He also said, “Bangabandhu gave independent land, his daughter Sheikh Hasina gave economic freedom. Hon'ble Prime Minister is working tirelessly to realize Bangabandhu's dream of building Sonar Bangla. The size of the country's economy is increasing, the size of our business is increasing. Exports of conventional-non-conventional goods are increasing.”

At this time, the former president of FBCCI and the chairman of the sub-committee on industry and commerce of Awami League, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, member secretary of the sub-committee. Siddiqur Rahman, FBCCI former president Sheikh Fazle Fahim, FBCCI newly appointed senior vice president Md. Amin Helaly, vice president Khairul Huda Chapal, Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarkar, Dr. Jashoda Jiban Debnath, Shami Kaiser, Rashedul Hossain Chowdhury Roni, Md. Munir Hossain along with Director of FBCCI, General Council member etc. were present.
