Accelerating the Trillion Dollar Journey
With the objective of highlighting the current state of the business environment in Bangladesh ensuring sustainable economic growth, a discussion meeting titled “Business Climate in Bangladesh: Issues and Challenges of Ethical Practice” was held at FBCCI Icon in Motijheel, Dhaka on February 05, 2026.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) jointly organized the discussion. Business leaders from different chambers and associations, FBCCI Former Directors, General Body Members, entrepreneurs, academia, government officials joined the discussion.

Businesses and entrepreneurs highlighted that Bangladesh is at critical junction of history. A new government is going to be formed by 12 February election. The new government is going to face challenges of inflation, investment ebb and unemployment. Business environment is not satisfactory. To meet the challenges, business leaders called for digitalization and automation of the concerned government authorities.
Mr. Mohammad Khaled Rahim, Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission and Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined the discussion as guests of honour.
Dr. Khondaker Golam Moazzem, Research Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) presented a keynote in the discussion. Highlighting the post LDC graduation challenges, he emphasized on institutional capacity building and business process reengineering in the country.
Mr. Abdur Rahim Khan, Administrator of FBCCI chaired the discussion. In his remarks, he called upon the government and private sector to work together for the development of the country and citizen.
IBFB President Ms. Lutfunnisa Saudia Khan, IBFB Director and Legal Economist Mr. M. S. Siddiqui, FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir also spoke at the discussion. Head of International Affairs Wing of FBCCI Mr. Md. Zafar Iqbal ndc, Adviser of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah were also present among others.
