FBCCI leaders paid courtesy call on the Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor

Leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade organization of the country, led by its President Mr. Mahbubul Alam, paid a courtesy call on the Hon'ble Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor, Mr. Salman F. Rahman, on January 18, 2024, at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) office.

FBCCI has sought the government's cooperation to ensure uninterrupted energy supply to industries, control inflation and the cost of doing business, digitalize the tax structure, and simplify purchase orders to overcome the economic challenges in the country.

FBCCI President Mr. Mahbubul Alam congratulated Mr. Salman F Rahman for being appointed as the Advisor to the HPM for the second term.

Mr. Mahbubul Alam expressed the hope that the government's cooperation in the development of the private sector will continue in the future, as in the past years. FBCCI also wants to collaborate more closely with the government to overcome economic challenges in the future, he added.

FBCCI President drew the attention of the government to ensuring uninterrupted energy supply to industries, controlling inflation and business operating costs, modernizing the tax structure, keeping bank loan interest at a tolerable level, and simplifying purchase orders for export trade.

Advisor to the Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. Salman F Rahman assured that the government will work more closely with the private sector to improve the business-friendly environment in the country.

Referring to the various measures taken by the government to deal with economic challenges, he said the government has already taken several plans to continue economic growth after assuming office, and the private sector is being considered seriously in this plan.

He urged the businessmen to increase their capacity and adopt innovative strategies.

Meanwhile, FBCCI Vice President Mr. Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, Ms. Shomi Kaiser, Mr. Md. Munir Hossain, and FBCCI directors were present at the program.
