The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade organization of Bangladesh, expressed keen interest in bolstering trade and economic ties with Mongolia. The country could serve as a potential destination for exporting skilled manpower to meet its growing labor market needs.

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam opined this during a courtesy meeting with the Mongolian Ambassador H.E. Ganbold Dambajav on Wednesday (January 31, 2024) at FBCCI’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka. 

Mahbubul Alam highlighted the potential sectors for collaboration between Bangladesh and Mongolia, emphasizing the global recognition attained by Bangladeshi products such as ready-made garments, jute and leather products, footwear, medicines, plastic goods, textiles, ceramic products, light engineering, and electronic products.

FBCCI President said, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various initiatives to attract foreign investors, including the establishment of 100 special economic zones, tax exemptions for foreign investors, and one-stop services to create a favorable environment for foreign investment. He invited the Mongolian investors to explore the potential sectors of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Ambassador of Mongolia H.E. Ganbold Dambajav expressed interest in taking skilled manpower from Bangladesh for agriculture, ready-made garments and construction sectors. He emphasized Mongolia's ample land for cultivation despite its small population, presenting an opportunity for collaboration. 

The Ambassador also identified Mongolia as a potential significant source of raw materials for Bangladeshi garments and expressed interest in collaborating with the tourism sector. He also invited the Bangladeshi businessmen to explore opportunities in Mongolia.

Among others, FBCCI Director Kausar Ahmed, FBCCI International Wing Consultant Ambassador Mosud Mannan ndc and others were present at the program.
