FBCCI President Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin urged the govt. to focus on the development of the skill manpower.
The FBCCI President Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin as chief guest attended the first meeting of the FBCCI Standing Committee on National Economic Policy & Planning, 8th FYP, Achieving SDGs and Vision 2041 held at FBCCI Icon on January 30, 2022.
The FBCCI Chief urged the government to undertake initiatives to build skill manpower in order to meet industry demand. He also called upon the govt. agencies to be equipped with highly skilled personnel to deal with more complex global trade issues to be faced in the post-LDC period including signing FTA and shielding local industry as many of the tax and duty benefits will end after the LDC graduation.
During the meeting, Speakers portrayed various challenges ahead in industrialization towards attaining different development targets. They emphasized on economic development as well as reduction of inequality, improvement of education, Industry-Academia linkage to negotiate with skill gap, formulation of national strategy on the 4IR, women empowerment, increase in use of renewable energy.
Dr. Nadia Binte Amin, Director in Charge of the Committee called for further policy support to SMEs in order to increase their contribution to the national economy.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the committee AKM Shamsuddoha.
