FBCCI Reviews Market Situation Ahead of Ramadan

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) organized a view exchange meeting on the current situations of import, stock, supply and pricing of essential commodities ahead of Ramadan, held at FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka on February 09, 2026.

Business leaders from different chambers and associations, representatives from corporate and production companies, wholesalers, retail traders, different market committee representatives and government officials attended the meeting. 

During the meeting, traders informed that there is no shortage of essential commodities like sugar, chickpeas, lemon, chilies, etc. in the country right now. Prices are also comparatively stable this year. They assured that the prices of daily essentials will remain stable during this Ramadan. Businessmen and entrepreneurs also urged the government to take strict measures to stop extortion. 

Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Administrator of FBCCI, chaired the discussion. He urged everyone to be responsible to keep the essential commodity market stable ahead of Ramadan. 

FBCCI Former Directors Mr. Khandaker Ruhul Amin, Mr. Md. Giasuddin Chowdhury (Khokon), Mr. Md. Abul Hashem, FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir, Adviser of FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah were present at the meeting, among others.
