Discussion meeting with visiting delegation of Kenya held

A discussion meeting between FBCCI and the visiting delegation of Kenya was held on July 25, 2022 at FBCCI Office. Director General of Bilateral and Political Affairs Ambassador Mr. Moi Lemoshira led the delegation. The delegation showed keen interest to enhance trade Relation with Bangladesh.

Ambassador Mr. Moi Lemoshira informed during the meeting that Nairobi is soon going to launch High Commission in Dhaka; and discussion between Bangladesh Biman and Kenya Airways to establish direct flight is also going on.

Kenya wants Bangladeshi investment in Food processing, Skill development, Health sector, Real-estate, ICT and Manufacturing, the Ambassador informed.

FBCCI Senior Vice President Mr. Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu said that establishing trade ties with Kenya would play a significant role for Bangladeshi products to access the African market as Kenya is the member country of African Union and East African Community. He called Kenya for import readymade garments, Leather and plastic goods, Ceramics, Processed Seafood and agro products from Bangladesh to enhance bilateral trade and increase mutual cooperation in Tourism, ICT, Blue economy and Agriculture.

Vice President of FBCCI Mr. Md. Amin Helaly ensured that all kinds of support from FBCCI to strengthen bilateral relations will be given.

Deputy High Commissioner of the Kenya High Commission in Delhi Ms. Irene Oloo, Director General of Foreign Service Academy Ambassador Ms. Stella Mokaya Orina, Trade Counsellor Mr. Jared Mayieka, FBCCI Directors Engr. Ghulam Mohammed Alomgir, Mr. S.M. Shafiuzzaman, and Ms. Priti Chakraborty also spoke at the meeting.

Directors of FBCCI Mr. Hafez Harun, Mr. Md. Naser, Mr. S M Jahangir Alam (Manik), Mr. Syed Sadat Almas Kabir, Mr. Abu Hossain Bhuiyan (Ranu) and Secretary General Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque were present at the meeting among others.

The delegation later visited FBCCI’s Mujib Corner.
