Administrator, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI)

Md. Fazlul Hoque Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is a prominent Bangladeshi business leader, industry pioneer, and global advocate for sustainable textile manufacturing. Revered across the national business community for his foresight, straightforwardness, and down-to-earth approach, he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, in 1986. In his decorated business career, Mr. Hoque established the country’s first LEED-certified garment factory, Plummy Fashions Ltd., in Narayanganj, Bangladesh—widely recognized as the greenest knitwear factory in the world. Alongside this flagship venture, he holds executive leadership roles as Chief Executive Officer of Soft Code, a software development firm, and Plummy Venture.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Hoque has held key leadership positions across major trade and business organizations. He served as Director of the FBCCI (2010–2012) and President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA, 2004–2010). His extensive governance footprint also includes serving as President of the Bangladesh Employers Federation (BEF, 2011–2013), Executive Board Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh (2006–2012, 2016–2028), Board Member of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), Executive Committee Member of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI), and Chairman of the MFA Forum, Bangladesh.

Beyond trade institutions, Mr. Hoque has contributed significantly to national economic policy formulation by serving on high-powered government committees. He has been a member of both the National Committee on Export and the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), both chaired by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Additionally, he contributed to national economic planning as a member of the Taskforce on Observation & Mitigation of Recent Economic Recession under the Ministry of Finance, served on the Board of Directors for the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh, participated in the National Task Force on SME Development, and advised Petrobangla on natural gas policy.

As an international speaker and trade envoy, Mr. Hoque regularly represents Bangladesh's industrial interests, green manufacturing capabilities, and labor relations on global stages. He has presented case studies and spoken on expert panels at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, the Asian Development Bank's First Green Business Forum in Manila, the International Growth Centre (IGC) at the London School of Economics and Oxford University, as well as forums hosted by the ILO, WTO, and OECD. He has also led extensive bilateral trade delegations across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia to expand international business ties.

On August 2, 2026, Mr. Hoque took over charge as the Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
