- FBCCI Organized a Seminar on Power & Energy
Accelerating the Trillion Dollar Journey
FBCCI, the country's apex trade body, organized a seminar titled "Power and Energy Scenario in Bangladesh: Ensuring Energy Security for Development" on January 25, 2025, at the FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka.
Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan graced the seminar as the chief guest.
FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman chaired the seminar.
The seminar stressed on ensuring energy security in Bangladesh through exploring off-shore and on-shore sources of gas and coals, reducing the system losses in the Power & Energy sector, adopting cost-effective energy strategies, reducing import dependence, reducing single energy dependence, and increasing the use of renewable energy, etc.
Among others, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Chairman of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) Khandker Md. Andul Hye, Executive Director and CEO of Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) Md. Alamgir Morshed, Head of Renewable Energy of IDCOL Md. Enamul Karim Pavel, Professor Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Energy Adviser of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Dr. M. Shamsul Alam, Former FBCCI Director and Member of the FBCCI Shohayok Committee Mr. Abdul Huq and Mr. Giasuddin Chowdhury (Khokon), FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir, Adviser of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah, business leaders, and dignitaries were present at the seminar.
