FBCCI hosts Seminar on Smart Trade for Smart Bangladesh: Way Forward

3 March, 2024; Dhaka: FBCCI, the apex trade organization of the country, hosts a seminar on 'Smart Trade for Smart Bangladesh: Way Forward' at the FBCCI Icon in the capital on March 3, 2024.

Top businessmen and Entrepreneurs, Government officials attended the seminar. Entrepreneurs said, it is essential to ensure modernised and smart trade to build a developed, prosperous and Smart Bangladesh by 2041. Necessary policies are needed to accelerate smart trade in the country, they opined.

Mr. Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Principal Secretary to the HPM, graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the pivotal role of the private sector as the primary engine of the nation's economy. He reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, pledging continued support to the business community to bolster cross-border trade, develop robust value chains, and streamline the cost of conducting business.

FBCCI President, Mr. Mahbubul Alam, presided over the seminar, heralding the government's 'Smart Bangladesh' initiative as a forward-thinking strategy to align with the global economy. With Bangladesh poised for LDC graduation by 2026, he underscored the imperative of embracing smart trade, smart economy, and cross-border commerce as instrumental in navigating forthcoming challenges.

Mr. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Ms. Zakia Sultana, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Industries, as special guests, were present at the program.

Among others, FBCCI Senior Vice President Mr. Md. Amin Helaly, Vice President Mr. Md. Khairul Huda Chopol, Ms. Shomi Kaiser, Mr. Rashadul Hossain Chowdhury (Ronni), Mr. Md. Munir Hossain, FBCCI Directors, Govt. Officials, Business Leaders and other dignitaries were present at the seminar.
