Accelerating the Trillion Dollar Journey
A 26-member delegation from the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), led by Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque, has embarked on an 11-day official visit to Europe aimed at expanding bilateral trade, fostering industrial linkages, and attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Departing Dhaka on September 23, 2026, the delegation is covering key European commercial hubs, including Madrid, Malaga, Geneva, and Paris, to align Bangladesh’s emerging economic potential with European markets under current global dynamics.
A major milestone of the tour unfolded on September 24 in Madrid, where the delegation participated in a seminar titled "Bangladesh: A Strategic Partner in the Global Economy" hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy in Spain and the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. Speaking at the event, Madrid Chamber President Ángel Asensio recognized Bangladesh as one of Asia's most vital emerging markets, driven by economic resilience and sustained growth.

Addressing European entrepreneurs, FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque underlined the Bangladeshi government's strategic policy support to attract FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). Acknowledging challenges, Mr. Hoque assured high returns on investment in Bangladesh. He extended an invitation to Madrid Chamber of Commerce to visit Bangladesh, and explore trade opportunities. In response, the Madrid Chamber President informed that a high-level business delegation may visit Dhaka in November 2026.
Notable attendees included Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Spain, Mr. Md. Masudur Rahman. The panel discussion brought together key industry figures, such as EuroChambres Bangladesh President Nuria Lopez, international trade consultant Pablo Araujo, Molins Executive Vice President Tarek Elba, and Recover Global Sustainability Director Ana Rodes. Additionally, virtual presentations by Invest Bangladesh member Mr. Nahian Rahman Rochi and EPB Vice-Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif highlighted Bangladesh's investment opportunities.
